Above average temperatures build in the next few days, and then they stick around for a while.

For Wednesday, expect a mix of clouds and sun and highs ranging from the mid-50s to mid 60s. Winds will generally be light the next few days.

By Wednesday night, temperatures drop in the upper 30s to low 40s with a few isolated showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening.

Thursday highs will be in the upper 60s to mid 70s, or about 10° above seasonal averages. Expect plenty of sun and dry conditions.

Temperatures continue to warm on Friday, hitting the upper 70s to around 80°. Isolated rain showers or thunderstorms possible.

Area temperatures will stay above average, hitting the 70s for the highs the 40s to low 50s for the lows early next week.

Billings forecast:

Wednesday… Mostly sunny with a high near 62. Isolated showers possible in the afternoon and early evening.

Wednesday night… Mostly clear with a low around 42.

Thursday… Sunshine with a high of about 73.
