The week starts off cool and wet, but warm and dry weather return quickly.
A good deal of widespread rain and wet snow will move right over the region for today. Total precipitation from around a quarter of an inch to 1 inch will be common for storm totals.
Temperatures will be well below normal, with most highs in the upper 30s to 40s for Monday.
The system moves out of the region from West to East during the day and through Tuesday morning. Overnight temperatures will be mainly in the 20s to low 30s, with areas of snow possible in Southeast Montana overnight.
A warming trend builds in for the rest of the week. Highs will move quickly back to the 50s for Tuesday, and reach as warm as the upper 70s to around 80 by Friday and Saturday.
A fast-moving weather system Wednesday night may bring some showers.

Monday… Rain, or rain and snow showers becoming all rain in the afternoon. A high near 42. Northerly breeze 5 to 15 mph.
Monday night… A chance of evening showers gradually ending. Clouds decrease, becoming partly cloudy by morning. Low near 29.
Tuesday… Sunny with a high around 56.
