Not done with cold and snow yet

Our chance for more snow is far from over. Rain and snow showers continue this week, but there will be some breaks as well.

High temperatures will be warmer Tuesday, but held back by the fresh snow cover. Expect afternoon readings mainly in the 30s.

Wednesday will be our warmest day, with highs in the 30s to mid 40s with a little boost from some wind down the East mountain slopes.

Our next weather system comes together Wednesday night. Cold air drops in from North Dakota, with moisture overrunning it from the Pacific Northwest.

The snow does not look to be as heavy as Monday’s system, and may linger is a rain/snow mix longer. Even still, be aware of changing conditions and travel hazards.

An active weather pattern continues through the weekend with more opportunities for snow and rain. Temperatures remain well below seasonal averages, and could even flirt with some record cold mornings.

Billings forecast:

Tuesday… A chance of morning showers before partly sunny afternoon. A high near 36. Westerly wind 10 to 20 mph.

Tuesday night… Cloudy with a slight chance of overnight snow showers. Low near 25.

Wednesday… Increasing clouds with an increasing chance of rain or snow later in the day. A high of about 43. Snow and rain likely by Wednesday evening.
