Rain and snow showers keep popping up

Cooler and unsettled weather sticks around through the weekend.

Rain and snow showers along the mountains and foothills west of Billings Wednesday morning will shift closer to Billings by the afternoon.

The best chance of bands of rain and snow developing Wednesday through Wednesday night will be from around Harlow and Judith Gap, east to around Hysham extending South to Sheridan, Wyoming and west through the Beartooth/Absaroka foothills. This includes Yellowstone County (Billings).

The lower elevations will see generally light accumulations of snow as temps warm each day, but the high country will see some significant snowfall accumulations. Travelers should be prepared for wet and slushy roads through Thursday morning.

Thursday and most of Friday will feature a little quieter weather, but more and snow will scatter across the area Friday night. Saturday will be much colder than average for late March/early April.

Billings forecast:

Wednesday: A chance of morning rain and snow shower, then rain showers likely in the afternoon. Otherwise cloudy to mostly cloudy, with a high near 46. Northwest wind 5 to 16 mph.

Wednesday Night: A chance of rain and light snow showers before midnight, then a chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30.

Thursday: A slight chance of snow showers before noon, then a slight chance of rain showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 47. West wind 10 to 20 mph becoming north in the afternoon.
