Click for 7 Day Forecast Rain, snow, flooding, and even some moderately comfortable afternoons all get a mention in the forecast.
A high pressure ridge in the Rocky Mountain region will bring warmer temperatures Thursday. Highs in the 50s will be widespread and some 60s in the mountain foothills and through parts of Northern Wyoming.
Thanks to more snow on the ground and an easterly breeze, the warm up will be less noticeable in areas east and north of Billings.
There is a lot of moisture streaming across the area, and by Thursday afternoon through Friday, mountain snow and lower elevation rain will develop. Some areas of sleet or freezing rain could develop early Friday in extreme Southeast Montana and across Northeast Montana early Friday.
With rain adding to the creeks and streams, plus melting more snow, the potential for ice jams and lowland flooding will increase closer to the weekend.
Billings forecast:

Thursday night…A chance of rain showers, especially overnight. Otherwise, cloudy to mostly cloudy with a low of about 37.
Friday…Partly sunny with isolated showers. Around 53 for the high temperature.
