Click for 7 Day ForecastThe sunny afternoons can’t last forever, and the return of rain and snow is dead ahead.

As our sunny and dry conditions slide off to the east, a Pacific weather system will bring rain and snow showers back to the region, moving from west to east. The chance of showers increases from Billings to the west through the evening and overnight.

Areas of fog will also continue to hold temperatures back across Eastern and Northern Montana.

Another round of showers will hit from Billings to the east with some generally light snow accumulations through Friday. The bigger problems could come from runoff across frozen ground creating icy areas and potential ice jams.

Billings forecast:

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 53. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east in the afternoon.

Wednesday night: A chance of rain showers before 9pm, then a slight chance of rain and snow showers late in the evening. Light snow is likely after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31.

Thursday: Snow likely in the morning, then rain and snow, then a chance of rain after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 48. North wind 5 to 10 mph.
