Click for 7 Day Forecast A quick moving weather system Friday is our last chance of moisture before a big warm-up next week.
Winds around the Livingston and Nye area will be the big impact on the weather during the day, a cold front will move across the region creating areas of rain and snow showers during the afternoon and evening.
Ahead of the front, temperatures will warm mainly into the 30s to 40s Friday afternoon, with some low 50s in the mountain foothills. Expect a mix of clouds and sun, with clouds increasing in the afternoon and evening.
A fast-moving system dropping out of Western Canada this afternoon and this evening sweeps across the area reaching Eastern Montana early Saturday morning. With decent instability, a burst of heavier snow is possible for short period of time with the system.
Accumulations looked to be light, with generally an inch or less for most of the area. Areas from Big Horn County Southeast into Carter County may see one to 2 inches.
Temperatures will back off behind the front a bit for Saturday and Sunday, but with lots of sunshine should be pleasant. Highs will be mainly in the upper 30s to low 40s.
A warm-up is on the way next week, with highs likely making the 50s in Billings by Tuesday or Wednesday.
For 2018, Billings is not officially made it to 50° yet. This is the longest stretch without hitting 50 in the last 40 years.
