A cold front will move through the area about midmorning, causing falling temperatures through the afternoon. Readings will drop from the low 30s to the 20s by this evening.

Snow will start to develop especially this afternoon, with areas of blowing snow. Wet roads could cause some slick roadways and sidewalks by this evening.

Wind gusts will develop as well, causing areas of blowing snow.

Quieter weather on Thursday, with sunshine. Temperatures will start in the single digits and teen,s then warm to the 20s.

By Thursday night into Friday, and Arctic cold front will bring more snow and even colder air early this weekend.

Billings forecast:

Wednesday… Mostly cloudy early with temperatures peaking around noon in the mid-30s. Temperatures will drop to the mid-20s for the remainder of the day. Snow is likely this afternoon with periods of wind that could cause blowing snow.

Wednesday night… Evening snow showers, then turning mostly cloudy. A low of about 11.

Thursday… Sunny, with a high near 28.
