For Friday, the strongest winds will be in the Big Timber and Harlowton areas. Expect gusts in these areas in excess of 50 mph. This will affect travel on I 90 and Highway 191.

Through the weekend, expect wind gusts of 30 to 40 miles an hour in areas from Billings to the West, with lighter winds to the East.

Temperatures will remain above average for today, with readings mainly in the mid 40s to mid 50s. Generally sunny to mostly sunny each day through at least Sunday.

Overnight temperatures will be mainly into the 20s to low 30s.

Dry conditions and warmer than average temperatures will continue until at least the middle of next week.

Billings forecast:

Friday… Sunny, with a high near 53. Southwest 15 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph.

Friday night… Mostly clear with a low around 32. Southwest winds 15 to 30 mph.

Saturday… More sun and more wind. About 52 for the high with a Southwest wind continuing at 15 to 25 mph.
