Click for 7 Day Forecast Despite sunshine, expect a chilly day after record-setting overnight lows.

Temperatures began to plummet before midnight. Billings dropped all away to 3°, breaking the record for November 6, 1936 of 4°.

Miles City and Livingston also reach new record lows before midnight Monday. Sheridan, Wyoming came within a few degrees of record.

For Tuesday, expect plenty of sunshine. But with the chilly morning readings and fresh snow on the ground, highs won’t make it past the upper 20s to low 30s.

Winds are increasing down the East mountain slopes from Livingston to Big Timber, some of the wind pushing out towards Billings. Wind gusts of 45 to 55 mph will develop Tuesday night through Wednesday morning, possibly causing areas of blowing snow along I 90.

Expect afternoon highs to stay in the upper 20s to mid 30s Wednesday and Thursday. Over the weekend, highs in the mid to lower 40s are on track.

Tuesday night… Partly to mostly clear, with a around 18. Southwest wind continues 10 to 20 mph, producing cold wind chill values.

Wednesday… Partly cloudy, with a Southwest wind 10 to 20 mph. About 33 for a high.
