Despite sunshine, Thursday remains cool

Click for 7 Day Forecast As the storm system clears out of the area, temperatures remain chilly for Thursday and Friday morning.

Area rain and snow showers in the morning will clear out to the afternoon. Gusty winds will remain in areas of Eastern Montana through late Thursday afternoon.

Despite a clearing sky, cold air over the region will hold temperatures into the 30s to mid 40s for Thursday afternoon highs. That will provide A sharp contrast to record-setting temperatures Wednesday.

Temperatures by early Friday will be especially chilly. Partly to mostly clear overnight with readings into the teens to mid 20s for overnight lows.

Temperatures will begin to warm Friday afternoon, reaching mainly into the 50s. 60s to low-70s are probable on Saturday for the warmest day the week will see for a while.

Billings forecast:

Thursday… A slight chance of morning showers turns partly sunny by the afternoon. Northerly winds 15 to 25 miles an hour ease up as the day progresses. A high of about 44.

Thursday night… Mostly clear, and chilly with a low near 25.

Friday… Mostly sunny and warmer, with a high around 54.
