Expect more heat Wednesday, with the highs mainly in the mid to lower 90s. At the same time, clouds and smoke will again hold back afternoon temperatures somewhat.
A few scattered to isolated showers and thunderstorms will develop during the afternoon and evening. Expect more wind than rain as the front moves through. Gusts could peak at around 40 mph.
A Red Flag Warning for critical wildfire conditions is in effect from noon until 9 PM Wednesday for Southeast Montana and portions of Northwest South Dakota.
Winds will increase today east of Billings, especially from around Forsyth and Colstrip in Rosebud County toward the Dakotas. Gusts of 20 to 35 mph will blow through the afternoon and evening.
