Hot and dry weather to return after Friday

With a mix of sunshine in a few clouds, temperatures will be noticeably cooler Friday. Highs will be mainly in the 80s with the 70s in the higher elevations.

By this afternoon this evening, a chance of showers and thunderstorms will slowly move across the area. A few pockets of heavy rain are possible, mainly East of Billings.

Saturday will be mainly dry and a little breezy with a Northwest wind. Temperatures will be in the upper 80s to low 90s, and the relative humidity will drop back into the teens.

For Sunday through at least Wednesday, expect hot afternoons and mild mornings. Highs will be mainly in the 90s, and could approach a few record highs Monday and Tuesday.

Billings forecast:

Friday… Mostly sunny with a high near 86. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

Friday night… A 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms during the evening. Mostly cloudy otherwise, with a low of about 58.

Saturday… Sunny and hot the high around 90.
