Cooler behind Tuesday night's storm

Click for 7 Day Forecast As one disturbance moves out of the area, another one moves in. But the big story of the day will be the much cooler temperatures.

The strong storm system from Tuesday evening moves into North Dakota and South Dakota throughout the day. Wind gusts of over 50 mph, reports of hail up to 1 inch in size, and localized flooding were reported with that system.

Right behind it, a cold front moves down from the North bringing in cooler northerly winds. A few isolated showers remain especially early Wednesday. With a mix of clouds and sun, temperatures will be mainly in the mid-70s Wednesday afternoon.

Expect breezy conditions, with Wednesday’s winds between 10 and 30 mph.

Thursday’s highs will nudge up to the upper 70s to mid 80s, with warmer readings and dry conditions on Friday. Highs by the end of the week will be 85 to 90.

Billings forecast:

Wednesday… Partly sunny, with a high near 75. Slight chance of showers thunderstorm. Breezy at times.

Wednesday night… Partly cloudy, with a low of about 53.

Thursday… Sunny with a high of around 82.
