Click Here for 7 Day Forecast High temperatures start the week, but a pretty significant cool down arrives by Wednesday.

Monday remains hot, with temperatures mainly into the mid to upper 90s. Miles City could be close to 100 degrees for a high temperature.

A cold front moves into the area throughout the day, shifting winds to the North during the evening. There is a slight chance of thunderstorms especially off the mountains Monday night.

Tuesday will trend slightly cooler, with high temperatures in the mid-80s to low 90s. A few thunderstorms will develop in the afternoon that could contain gusty winds and hail.

The Storm Prediction Center has put Southeast Montana under a marginal risk for strong to severe storms Tuesday afternoon and evening. This is for areas well East and South of Billings. The biggest threat will be damaging winds and the possibility of some 1-inch hail.

Behind this disturbance, temperatures will be much cooler Wednesday. Highs are expected in the mid 70s to lower 80s. A North wind will be breezy at times, with a few thunderstorms developing mainly over Southeast Montana.

Billings forecast:

Monday… Sunny and hot, with a high near 96. Winds shift from the West to the North during the day at 5 to 15 mph.

Monday night… Partly cloudy, with a low around 64. Light North breeze.

Tuesday… Mostly sunny with a high near 93. A slight chance of an afternoon thunderstorm.
