A lot more hot

The heat remains through the weekend, with hit and miss chances for thunderstorms. There may be some relief early next week.

A weak disturbance moving to the area could create an isolated shower or thunderstorm Friday. The biggest threat will be gusty winds with some of the stronger storms.

Expect a hot and dry Friday with temperatures in the 90s to low 100s. Other than around the isolated storms, it will be sunny with a light North wind.

Saturday will remain very hot. Highs will still be in the 90s to low 100s.

A strong low will crash our Ridge of high pressure on Sunday. That could push the temperatures upward before the disturbance moves through. By the afternoon and evening, scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop along in behind a cold front.

With highs in the 80s to around 90, early next week will be closer to average seasonal temperatures. Scattered isolated storms are still possible each afternoon.

Billings forecast:

Friday… Isolated morning showers or thunderstorms, otherwise sunny and hot. A high around 98.

Friday night… Mostly clear with a low of about 66.

Saturday… Sunny and hot with a high near 99. A few clouds develop by the evening.
