Click Here for 7 Day Forecast So far this year, today will be the hottest day we have seen in 2017. Wildfire concerns increase this afternoon, followed by the potential for strong thunderstorms by this evening.

High temperatures today will be mainly into the 90s and triple digits, with the hottest readings from Billings off towards the East. With low humidity and hot temperatures, fire risk will increase.

Billings could reach 100° for the first time in nearly 3 years.

By late this afternoon and this evening, clouds will start to increase from West to East.

The Storm Prediction Center of the National Weather Service has a large area of southwest and south-central Montana under a marginal risk of strong to severe storms for this afternoon this evening. This includes areas west of a line from Roundup, to Billings South to Sheridan, Wyoming.

The biggest threats from storms in this area will be frequent lightning and gusty winds, adding to wildfire concerns.

Billings forecast:

Wednesday… Sunny and hot with a high near 101. Southwest breeze 5 to 15 miles an hour.

Wednesday night… Isolated evening thunderstorms. Otherwise partly to mostly cloudy with a low around 67.

Thursday… Partly to mostly sunny with a high of about 96.
