A ridge of high pressure will continue to bring a sunny sky and a light wind across the area Wednesday. Afternoon readings will be mainly in the 80s.
It will be just a slight chance for an afternoon or evening isolated shower or thunderstorm over the mountains and adjacent foothills.
With mild overnight lows mainly in the 50s, temperatures will soar ahead of a cold front tomorrow.
Thursday will be the warmest day the week with area highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. If Billings reaches 92, it would tie the June 1 record set in 1977. Records go back to 1934.
With the warm readings, rivers and streams will be on the rise over the next few days. Some minor flooding is possible along the Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone, with high waters also on the Yellowstone River around Livingston.
Even though waterways may not reach flood stage, be cautious of fast-moving waters and the possibility of erosion along the banks.

Wednesday… Sunny, with a high near 86. A West to southerly breeze through the day.
Wednesday night… Partly cloudy with a low near 56.
Thursday… Mostly sunny and hot with a high near 90. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible by Thursday afternoon and evening.
