Click for 7 Day ForecastCooler and wetter weather is on the way for midweek.

Tuesday will act as a transition day, as clouds and showers will increase by later in the day. High temperatures will be mainly in the 60s today, with clouds increasing from West to East across the area.

By this afternoon this evening, the chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms will start to move off the mountain foothills. As the winds start to shift to the East, the chance of rain and mountain snow will increase overnight.

Wednesday will be much cooler. Temperatures will start off in the 30s and 40s across much of the area, but only reach the 40s into the foothills, to maybe around 60° East of Billings.

The wetter weather will be to the West and South of Billings through northern Wyoming. It will be drier and somewhat warmer to the North and East of Billings, but winds will be gusty at times in these areas.

Heavy snow will create typical driving conditions in some areas around the mountains, with 12 to 8 inches of wet heavy snow possible especially on the northeast facing slopes of the mountains.

The wet and cool conditions may threaten young livestock. Localized power outages are possible.

With creeks and streams already running high, additional precipitation could produce some minor flooding. Larger rivers will see rises but not likely letting conditions.

Billings forecast:

Tuesday… Mostly sunny to start with increasing afternoon clouds. A 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Around 67 for the high.

Tonight… Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. A low near 47. Light East breeze.

Wednesday… Rain showers. A high of about 51.
