Continued warm but with some hazards

Sunny, warm, and dry conditions will dominate the weather for the next couple of days. Highs Tuesday will be in the mid to lower 50s around the Billings area, and could run 5° warmer by the end of the day Wednesday.

Winds will increase over the Western valleys, and continue to blow from the mountain foothills out towards Billings likely through Thursday. Strong Southwest winds will impact travel from Livingston to Big Timber on I-90 from late Tuesday through Thursday. Dangerous cross winds could gust to well over 60 mph.

Winds will increase 15 to 25 mph around Billings Tuesday night and continue to blow with gusts to around 40 through Wednesday.

There is a chance of showers Thursday evening with the disturbance moving through.

With warm daytime highs and overnight lows staying above freezing, there is potential for ice jams on area streams, creeks, and rivers.

Billings forecast:

Tuesday… Sunshine, with the high near 52. Southwest wind 10 to 20 mph.

Tuesday night… Clear, with a low of about 32. Winds increasing Southwest 15 to 25 mph.

Wednesday… Sunny again, with a high around 59. Southwest wind 15 to 30 mph, with gusts to 40 mph.
