Lots of sunshine in the afternoon, with temperatures mainly in the 40s for today and again on Tuesday. We will see a modest increase in the afternoon highs Tuesday afternoon.
Winds will become much stronger down the East mountain slopes by Tuesday night, pushing temperatures well into the 50s Wednesday afternoon. Gusts in the mountain foothills during the middle of the week will likely exceed 60 mph.
Temperatures will be the warmest through Thursday, when we have a chance to reach near 60 in the Billings area. As the winds ease up by Friday and Saturday, temperatures will be in the 40s for the highs, and 20s to low 30s for the lows heading into the weekend.
Additional snow melt during the week could aggravate the potential for flooding in some of the creeks and streams. Continue to use caution in low-lying areas.
Billings forecast:
Monday… Sunshine, with a high near 47. Southwest wind 10 to 25 miles an hour decreasing the afternoon.
Monday night… Clear, with a low around 25.
Tuesday… More sunshine, and about 49 for a high. Winds will increase by Tuesday evening.
