Click for 7 day ForecastWarm overnight temperatures continue the melting that started Thursday. Despite increasing afternoon clouds out ahead of the next cold front, readings will still be mainly in the 40s to low 50s for this afternoon.

High creeks and streams can be expected this weekend, with plenty of muddy conditions.  The frozen ground won’t absorb a lot, so runoff problems will exist. Also, road and sidewalks could become very slick in places.

Winds of decreased somewhat in the mountain foothills around Livingston extending up towards Harlowton but will remain breezy Friday. Still expect wind gusts of 40 to 50 miles an hour along I 90 Friday and again Saturday.

A cold front moving through the area later today will bring a downshift in the temperatures and a chance of higher elevation showers into the foothills and mountains.

Overnight temperatures will be mainly in the 40s and partly to mostly cloudy.

For Saturday and Sunday, expect sunny to mostly sunny afternoons with highs in the 30s to around 40°. Saturday will be breezy.

The trend for next week is warm and dry weather with the highs mainly in the 40s and the lows in the 20s.

Billings forecast:

Friday… Partly to mostly cloudy, with a high around 48. West breeze 10 to 20 mph.

Friday night… Partly to mostly cloudy, with a low near 26.

Saturday… Mostly sunny and breezy, with gusts to 45 mph possible by the afternoon. A little cooler, with about 38 for the high.
