Off-and-on snow with steady cold for a few days

Snow showers take a brief break on Wednesday, but return Thursday. The cold sticks around the whole time.

Click for 7 Day Forecast The chance of snow is best Wednesday morning, with a mix of clouds and sunshine for the afternoon. Temperatures will stay mainly in the teens, dropping to the single digits above and below zero overnight.

For Thursday, snow starts to push back up into the region once again. The higher elevations could pick up another 5 to 10 inches of accumulation, with Billings perhaps closer to 1 to 3 inches Thursday. Snowfall will be lighter to the North and East of Billings.

A general warm-up is in store for the weekend. Highs will gradually increase reaching to around 40 by Sunday.

Next week, the trend is toward a return to colder temperatures and a chance of more snow showers.

Billings forecast:

Wednesday… A chance of morning snow showers, and partly to mostly cloudy in the afternoon. A high near 17. North breeze 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday night… Mostly cloudy during the evening, with a chance of overnight snow showers. The overnight low will be around 4°.

Thursday… Cloudy with an increasing chance of snow by the afternoon. New snow accumulation of around 2 inches. Another chilly day, with a high of about 14.
