Wind and warmer through Wednesday
0 0

The overall trend will be increasing temperatures, but increasing winds, through the middle of the week. Then, temperatures cool with some showers possible by the weekend.

Strong winds will impact the Livingston area from tonight through Wednesday night. Gusts could reach 50 to 65 mph. That will increase winds to as far east as the Billings area, with sustained winds of 15 to 30 miles an hour by tomorrow.

Expect plenty of sunshine today, with highs mainly in the 20s to low 30s. However, there could be big variations in temperatures within a few miles of each other caused by differences in elevation and wind.

The overall trend will be warmer temperatures into the 40s on Wednesday and Thursday, and then cool heading into the weekend. The best chance of showers this week will be Thursday night into Friday, as colder air slides into the region.

Billings forecast:

Martin Luther King Jr. Day… Sunshine, with a high of around 32. Southwest wind 15 to 25 mph.

Monday night… Mostly clear, with a low near 22. Southwest wind 15 to 25 mph.

Tuesday… Partly to mostly sunny. About 41 for a high. West to Southwest winds continue to blow 15 to 25 mph.
