One day warm-up!
0 0

Click for 7 Day ForecastToday will be the warmest day so far in 2017. But, the warm-up brings a few hazards with it.

Morning temperatures are much higher as elevation increases as a warm front moves from South to North across the region today, highs will range the 20s and Eastern Montana, to the 40s in the mountain foothills.

Livingston was already into the 40s before the sun came up, but winds were also gusting over 50 miles an hour.

With a mix of clouds and sun this afternoon, Billings will likely warm to the upper 30s. That will be warm enough that any scattered precipitation will be a rain/snow mix or rain showers.

There is a chance of pockets of freezing rain. With the rain freezing on contact, areas of slick roads or sidewalks could develop very quickly.

Temperatures will start to drop off again tomorrow, with some very cold air back in place for Wednesday and Thursday.

Billings forecast:

Monday… Mostly cloudy, with a slight chance of rain or snow showers. A high of about 38.

Monday night… Scattered to isolated snow showers during the evening. Partly cloudy overnight, with a low near 14.

Tuesday… Partly sunny, with a chance of an afternoon snow shower. Colder, with a high around 20.
