In the short-term, expect wind but not as cold. In the long term, expect cold. And lots of it.
The strongest winds for Tuesday will be in the Livingston, Big Timber, and Nye areas with wind gusts of 65 to 75 mph possible. This could cause travel concerns along I 90 today for high profile vehicles.
Otherwise for Tuesday, expect a mix of clouds and sunshine with highs ranging from the upper 20s to mid 30s. Billings will be breezy, with less wind to the East.
Strong winds Wednesday will continue to spread farther to the East. Billings may see wind gusts to 50 miles an hour Wednesday afternoon, with wind and blowing snow possible everywhere in the area.
Highs will stay mainly in the upper 20s to mid 30s Friday. We will start to transition into colder air Saturday and Sunday as we welcome in the new year.
