Today will be a transition day for our area. We are going from the summerlike temperatures of Sunday, to a taste of winter for Tuesday.
Temperatures from Billings to the North will be warmest through the early afternoon, and then hold steady or drop to the rest of the day. Billings will likely top off close to 60° early in the afternoon, and then drop off considerably by this evening.
With clouds increasing through the afternoon, a chance of rain showers develops tonight. Snow is likely, especially by first thing tomorrow morning as temperatures drop close to freezing.
The best chance of rain and snow is overnight through the day tomorrow. Some accumulating snow in the grassy areas is likely.
Wednesday morning will be especially cold, with temperatures dropping to the early mid to lower 20s.
