Snow, wind, thunderstorms all possible across the area

Much cooler temperatures, rain showers, high elevation snow, and the potential of strong thunderstorms could impact the area today in this evening. Tuesday looks cooling showery with the potential for some gusty winds.

Temperatures from Billings to the west will hold steady even drop through this afternoon. Expect periods of showers with some areas of heavier rain.

Areas East of Billings will warm to the 60s and 70s today. But there is the potential of strong to severe thunderstorms from Miles City to the east for this afternoon and early this evening.

Winds will start to increase tonight, with lows in the 40s. Gusts up to around 40 mph possible tomorrow, with the highs 45 to 55 pretty widespread.

Billings forecast:

Monday… Cloudy with showers likely. A thunderstorm is possible. Temperatures will hold steady or drop through the afternoon.

Monday night… Showers likely overnight, with a low of about 43. Winds increasing to 15 to 25 mph from the West overnight.

Tuesday… Cloudy with showers likely especially in the morning. Wind gusts could reach 40 mph. Near 55 for a high.
