Temperatures begin to cool today. A stronger disturbance brings increasing rain showers and isolated thunderstorms the next few days.

Temperatures will be cooler from Billings to the West today, with a cloudy to mostly cloudy afternoon. Highs will be mainly into the 50s from Billings to the West, but in the 60s South and West of Billings.

Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible today, especially increasing by this afternoon this evening. The best rainmaking weather will be overnight and through tomorrow.

The latest estimates would put rainfall somewhere between a half inch and just over an inch in Billings through Thursday. Additional rainfall is likely Friday with area showers, with a few lingering showers possible especially early on Saturday.

Billings forecast:

Wednesday… Mostly cloudy, with scattered showers or isolated thunderstorms increasing by this afternoon. A high of about 59.

Wednesday night… Increasing rain showers, with rain likely overnight. A low near 50.

Thursday… Rain likely. And isolated thunderstorms possible. Around 59 for a high.
