Today will be the last of the really hot days. As we transition from the summerlike temperatures to below average readings, wildfire risk will increase.
Highs will be back up in the 90s once again today, with a mostly sunny sky. The hottest temperatures will be from Billings to the East, with a light wind.
As a cold front moves through late in the day, it will kick up gusty winds this evening. A combination of this afternoon’s heat, low humidity, and those winds will increase wildfire risk through this evening.
Temperatures will transition into the 70s tomorrow, and the 60s on Sunday and Monday. An increasing chance of showers will come especially later Sunday through early Monday.
Billings forecast:
Friday… Mostly sunny and hot, with a high of around 94.
Friday night… Increasing clouds with a slight risk of showers or thunderstorms. Winds could be gusty at times through the evening. Near 57 for a low.
Saturday… Partly sunny, with a high of about 75. A chance of scattered evening showers or isolated thunderstorms.
