Hot and dry shifts to cooler and storms over the weekend
0 0

We will see a big swing in the weather pattern over the weekend. From hot and dry conditions today in most of Saturday, to much cooler conditions and a chance of strong to severe storms by Sunday afternoon.

High temperatures today will be mainly in the upper 80s to mid 90s across our region. A few isolated storms could develop off the mountains during the afternoon and evening, but low humidity may create more wind gusts than any measurable rainfall in the lower elevations.

Saturday shapes up much the same, with highs again in the upper 80s to 90s. But a stronger cold front moving in tomorrow evening starts to create some showers and thunderstorms.

By Sunday, temperatures will cool mainly to the 75 to 80° range with more numerous showers and thunderstorms. The bull’s-eye for strong to severe storms will be East of Billings.

Billings forecast:

Today… Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 95. A light breeze 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight… Partly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower thunderstorm during the evening. Around 62 by early Saturday for a low.

Saturday… Mostly sunny and hot, heating to about 94. A chance of showers and thunderstorms develops by the evening.
