Wind and the chance of rain exit after today

Winds will be very gusty at times across the region today. Cool and unsettled weather continues east of Billings with rain showers and isolated thunderstorms. But, significant changes are on the way for Wednesday.

Billings is on the western edge of the rain showers today, with a better chance of precipitation to the East, extending towards the Dakotas. Gusty winds will be a concern across the entire area with sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph possible. Gusts could reach 40 to 50 mph.

Overall, conditions will become more settled in the evening. Lows will be in the upper 30s and 40s early Wednesday.

Much of the area will see at 10 to 15° increase in temperatures Wednesday compared to today. Drier air moves in tomorrow, with a sunny to mostly sunny afternoon.

Billings forecast:

Today… Partly sunny, with a high near 67. West wind 15 to 30 mph could gust to over 40 mph. A 30% chance of showers or isolated thunderstorms.

Tonight… A chance of evening showers or an isolated thunderstorm. Otherwise mostly clear overnight with a low of about 43. Winds decrease during the evening.

Wednesday… Sunny to mostly sunny, with a high approaching 79. A light wind.
