Cooler and more unsettled today and tomorrow

A fast-moving cold front is already exiting Montana into the Dakotas this morning. High temperatures will be mainly in the 60s, and wind will become more of a factor in the weather…especially for Tuesday.

Cooler air spinning around an area of low pressure will bring a chance of some showers back into the area for this afternoon. Expect a mix of clouds and sun, with some breezy periods.

With colder air aloft, there could be some snow over the Beartooth Highway but accumulations will be light. Showers are the most likely East of Billings by this evening, with lows in the upper 30s and 40s.

Tuesday looks a bit blustery, with winds gusting 40 to 50 mph. Highs tomorrow will be mainly in the 60s, with a mix of clouds and sun.

Billings forecast:

Today… Mostly to partly cloudy, with a 50% chance of showers or isolated thunderstorms. Temperatures remain fairly steady, with a high near 66.

Tonight… Partly cloudy with a 30% chance of mainly evening showers or thunderstorms. Around 45 for a low.

Tuesday… Partly to mostly sunny, with a slight chance of showers. Gusty West winds of 20 to 30 mph, gusting to has high as 50 mph. Once again, about 66 for a high temperature.
