Chance of storms lingers
0 0

Unsettled spring weather will continue across the region through tomorrow. For today, scattered showers and some thunderstorms are expected from areas from Billings to the West. Another round of potentially strong storms could reach us Monday and Tuesday.

Temperatures will remain mainly in the 60s to lower 70s today. As a cold front moves from West to East, areas of showers and thunderstorms will develop throughout the day, and not just the afternoon and evening.

The best area for stronger thunderstorms could be around Billings by midafternoon with small hail and gusty winds. Any stronger activity should taper off quickly after sunset.

Expect scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms Saturday, with highs mainly in the 60s. Sunday will trend warmer and drier. But there are some indications stronger showers and thunderstorms with gusty winds could develop Monday and Tuesday of next week.

Billings forecast:

Today… Mostly sunny early, with a high near 70. Southerly wind of 5 to 15 mph. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop through the morning and afternoon.

Tonight… Showers likely, and possibly an evening thunderstorm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy with a low of about 48.

Saturday… Partly sunny with a chance of showers a thunderstorm is also possible in the afternoon. High around 68.
