Still a good chance of rain across the entire area today. The mountains and adjacent foothills will see some snow through this morning. Winds will be very gusty, and temperatures well below average.
The upper low that brought rain yesterday will be over Eastern Montana today. That will continue to spin more moisture in, keeping the chances of rain and higher elevation snow going. As the day progresses, the best chance precipitation will shift to the East towards the Dakotas.
Expect a cool afternoon, with area temperatures mainly in the 40s for the highs. That is not much of a shift from where morning readings are. Very gusty Northwest winds will develop by midmorning and continue well into this evening. Gusts of 40 to 50 miles an hour are not out of the question, especially in areas from Billings to the East.
Drying and warming conditions move in tomorrow, but some of the wind remains. Temperatures will be mainly in the 40s with a mostly sunny sky on Wednesday.
