As advertised, we are on our way to record high temperatures today. A cold front will move through the area late tonight, bringing cooler and more unsettled weather Friday.
With plenty of sunshine, Billings should be able to top the previous May 5 record high of 84°, set way back in 1936. The record in Miles City is 89, set back in 1966. There’s a good chance that could fall as well. Livingston and Sheridan, Wyoming could also come close to records.
Once the front moves through, temperatures take a definite downturn. Still mild tomorrow morning, with lows in the 40s and 50s. Tomorrow, cloudy to mostly cloudy, with highs mainly in the 60s around the area. From Forsyth to the East, highs could still hit the 70s.
Billings forecast:
Today… Sunny, with a high near 87. A light Southwest wind.
Tonight… Partly cloudy, with a low of about 56. Winds increase from the Northwest.
Friday… Mostly cloudy with a chance of a shower or an isolated thunderstorm. Around 65 for a high.
