– Governor Steve Bullock today was sworn in as Montana’s 24th Governor
“I’m deeply honored that Montanans have given me the opportunity to serve the state that I love as Governor for another four years,” Governor Bullock said. “Thank you for entrusting me to lead our state.”
Governor Bullock expressed optimism that Montana can be a shining example of how the political system is supposed to work.
“At the end of the day, we all want many of the same things. We want a good-paying job to support our families. We want our sons and daughters to be treated fairly and get a good education. We want to enjoy our public lands. We want to feel and be safe in our communities,” Bullock continued. “And we want a better future for our kids and our grandkids.”
Bullock was reelected to a second term as Governor November 8, 2016. During his first four years in office, Bullock worked with Democrats and Republicans:
· To make responsible decisions about the state’s budget and taxes;
- · To strengthen middle-class families;
- · Foster an economy that allows businesses to grow and hire more workers.
- · To make record investments in Montana’s public education system;
- · To bring our taxpayer dollars home and expand access to healthcare for 70,000 Montanans;
- · To bring transparency to Montana’s elections;
- · To protect Montana’s public lands and streams and access to them; and
- · To advance equal pay for equal work for all Montanans.
