Billings Area Boy Hit By Car

 

Police, fire and medical units were dispatched to the intersection of 8th St W and Broadwater Ave at 07:17 am this morning  for a crash involving a pickup truck and a 12 yr old boy.  The pickup was being driven by a 26 year old male out of Billings and had been traveling east on Broadwater Ave in the far right lane, closest to the curb.  The 12 yr old boy and his brother were on the south east corner of the intersection waiting to cross Broadwater Ave.  The boy stepped out into the crosswalk to cross the street and the passenger side mirror of the pickup truck the boy in the head as it passed through the intersection.  The boy suffered head injuries and was transported to St. Vincent’s hospital.  The boy was later moved to the pediatric ISU and is currently listed in critical condition. 

 

The pickup was being driven by a 26 yr old Billings male.  The morning sun light and poor visibility are listed as contributing factors in the crash.  There have not been any arrests or citations issued at this time and the crash is still under investigation.

    Sad news. Accidents have been increased in every region which takes the life of many people. People must always follow the rules and regulations which in turn avoid the accident cases. It is really a sad news to hear.
