Governor Steve Bullock today (Friday 7/8) will visit Billings’ new food trailer through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Billings Public Schools implemented the new food trailer this week and it will rotate through several SFSP sites each day throughout the summer. A total of 15 summer meal locations, including 4 from the food trailer, are currently open in Billings. Each site offers free meals to children aged 18 and younger.
Governor Bullock will also visit with an AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) team sponsored by Montana No Kid Hungry to increase participation at the SFSP sites in Billings. The team has been tasked with implementing learning and recreational activities at summer meal sites, as well as conducting outreach to entice more kids to participate in the program.
