On March 31st, 2016 at 1:59 AM Billings Fire and Police personnel responded to 425 North 18th Street, Billings Extinguishing Systems Technology on a structure fire.  The fire was incendiary in nature and surveillance video shows 3-4 individuals breaking into the business through a window and leaving several minutes later through the front door just prior to the fire.  One third of the business was a total loss and the damages were estimated at $100,000. Billings Airport to Receive $2 Million for Infrastructure Improvements

Armed Robberies #5

At 4:17am 4/11/2016 , Billings Police Officers responded to the report of a robbery which had occurred at the Blue Basket convenience store located at 2347 Main St in the Heights. An unknown male entered the store, pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money. The clerk attempted to call 911 from a cell phone at which point the suspect fired the pistol at the clerk striking the phone. Read more...

Suspect Arrested in Belfry Triple Homicide

 At approximately 2:00am MST today, Robert James LeCou (age 39) was arrested in Washington state for three counts of deliberate homicide. The arrest was carried out by the Montana Division of Criminal Investigation, Stevens County Sheriff’s Office, Spokane Police Department, and Federal Bureau of Investigation. LeCou was arrested at 11448 Meadow View Lane, Nine Miles Falls, Washington. The arrest warrant was issued by the Carbon County Attorney’s Office. Read more...

Late last night Billings Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a robbery at the Copper Creek Casino located at 1731 King Ave W. Two unidentified males entered the small casino which was occupied by one employee and two customers. Read more...

In a letter today, Governor Bullock offered to work with NorthWestern Energy CEO Bob Rowe to explore alternative ownership of Colstrip Units 1, 2 and 3 through a working group convened by the state.
